Tipping Competition Day Three

BetVictorTwo days, and four races down, and just 31 players have notched a winner, despite a 2/1 jolly obliging in day 2 leg 2.

Today's pair of practically imponderable puzzles to plunder are below - as is the current scoreboard - and, for newcomers, it's not too late to enter so here's a quick recap/overview/rundown on the rules.

The full rules can be found in the day one post here, but a quick precis is as follows:

  • Enter your name, email, and BetVictor username in the 'website' box in the comments space (note, you must have a BetVictor account to take part in this competition - see below if you've not yet got one).
  • Select your horse for each of the two selected races and post in the comment box.
  • Click 'post comment'

You need a BetVictor account to enter this competition. If you don't yet have one, you can register here. {Note, if you've been entering without this information I'm afraid you're not in the running}.

I just want to clarify one point. A few people were asking about nap selections for the highest priced winner contest. Apologies for confusion here: no need to nominate a nap, both your selections each day will be entered. Simple.

Day three's races are:

3.15 Ludlow

3.55 Doncaster

Current standings are below our sponsor's banner - click this and register if you're not an account holder already, to enter. 🙂

Ian Friend and Tony MS cling on to their day one lead, but only by their fingernails, as the first challengers begin to close.

Stuart Boa and Robert Jollybob are 4.5 units back after a 12/1 winner on day one and a 2/1 score on day two.

And there are a further sixteen players on nine points or more.

Underlining the trickiness of things so far, just 31 of the 190 odd players are off the mark so, as I’ve said, there’s still all to play for!

3.15 Ludlow

  2. David says:

    3.15 Lud – LAST SHOT
    3.55 Don – COCACOBANA

Was torn between Coca and Moonlight Drive…went with Manilow over Morrison!!

15.15 Last Shot – mark OK and drop to 2m could help

15.55 Dawn Twister – Still to reach same level over timber as flat but nothing wrong with last two runs off similar marks

  6. Matt Bisogno says:

It’s been a windy old day down here, so for me it has to be Another Trump 3.15 and Velator 3.55.

They both have reasonable form chances too…!

  7. Matt Bisogno says:

12/1 Oranger wins the races, and that’s great news for four of you in the competition proper! 🙂

  8. Matt Bisogno says:

Seven of you shrewdies nailed 20/1 poke Doctor Foxtrot, meaning you have top priced tip honours between you. Count back will come into play if no higher priced winner between now and the end of next week!

I’ll update the scores now, and let you know how things stand.

  9. Matt Bisogno says:

Good Lord. One entry, Ian Friend, is now on +35.5 units, after finding winners at 13/2, 12/1 and 20/1 from the first six races! Can anyone catch him?

With another 14 races to go, the answer must be… ‘perhaps’

Best placed to do that are: S Dhillon (28), Mark Smith (20), and the Doctor Foxtrot posse of Kevin Ritchie, Simon Curtis, Paul Matthews, Pete Fisher, and Bernard.

    Back later…

    Matt
