Dr Newland's Horses Are In Good Heart

Andy Newton has seven more trainers to keep on your side this week - see who they are here.......

SHEENA WEST (3 winners from her last 4 runners, 75% strike-rate):  Got a headline mention last week, but unfortunately she’s not had any runners since. That, however, looks different this week with their improvers Hi Note and Alfraamsey both engaged at Cheltenham, while they’ve got Dubai Glory entered in a decent Listed hurdle at Kempton on Sunday. In terms of winners they are on 7 from just 30 runners over the sticks, with a staggering 26 of those 30 finishing fourth or better! 14 in 2011-12 is their best-ever win total and that looks like being kicked into touch this term. The final thing to note is that 6 of their 7 winners this season have been with their hurdlers.
Upcoming entries and track stats: Cheltenham (1 from 18, 6%), Kempton NH (2 from 17, 12%)

DR RICHARD NEWLAND (4 winners from his last 6 runners, 67% strike-rate): Another yard that got a big mention last week and with another winner at Towcester it was justified. With 5 of their last 6 runners finishing first or second then the form of their runners is there for all to see, while they are not afraid to try and book the ‘big-gun’ jockeys with McCoy and Richard Johnson riding twice for the yard in recent weeks. The other pilot to look out for is young Christopher Ward, who claims a handy 7lbs – he rode Royale Knight to victory at Fontwell earlier this month.
Upcoming entries and track stats: Wetherby (2 from 10, 20%), Wincanton (2 from 11, 18%), Cheltenham (1 from 24, 4%)

ROBIN DICKIN (3 winners from their last 7 runners, 43% strike-rate): Not one of the biggest yards in operation, but with 3 of their last 7 runners going in then it could pay to note any Dickin runners in the coming weeks. They've had 2 flat winners in 2012, but the bulk of their runners are over the jumps and are currently 5 from 27 in that sphere. They are also 1-from-1 with their NH Flat runners this season thanks to a win at Ludlow last week, while 3 of their 5 NH winners have been over hurdles. Looking ahead their recent Worcester winner, Thomas Crapper, is engaged at Cheltenham on Friday and although it's a tougher-looking race he looks interesting.
Upcoming entries and track stats: Leicester (0 from 2), Cheltenham (2 from 13, 15%)

CHRIS WALL (5 winners from his last 14 runners, 36% strike-rate): With a 11/1 and 16/1 winners in the last few weeks then Chris Wall supporters are sitting pretty at present, plus that also means they are showing a level stakes profit in 2012 of +£10. Yes, they’ve only fired in 21 winners so far, but they generally get around 25-30 in a season these days and look on target to do so again. Keep an eye if young Ashley Morgan gets the leg-up – his last two rides have resulted in winners! One tiny word of caution is to probably play it safe with their 2 year-olds as they are just 1 from 25 in that age group, with their best strike-rate this season coming with their 3 year-olds (18%).
Upcoming entries and track stats: Wolverhampton (13 from 73, 18%), Nottingham (3 from 41, 7%), Kempton (12 from 85, 14%), Ascot (4 from 34, 12%), Bath (1 from 3, 33%)

LINDA PERRATT (4 winners from her last 12 runners, 33% strike-rate): Not had the best of season’s with just 10 winners, and with 4 of those coming this month then it was certainly looking a bit desperate for the Perratt team. However, they are a bit of an up-and-down yard as their recent yearly win figures read 32-5-22-17, but they do also have the odd NH runner – that said, they’ve had just one winner over the sticks since 1997! - On a plus, that NH winner did come at Kelso and they’ve got one entered their this Saturday! It might be a tall order, but I suspect they will be hoping to get somewhere near the 20 winners mark before the year is out – at least their horses seem back in form to give them a chance of achieving that.
Upcoming entries and track stats: Kelso (1 from 2, 50%), Wolverhampton (16 from 79, 20%)

LUCINDA RUSSELL (4 winners from her last 12 runners, 33% strike-rate): Fired in doubles at Hexham and Carlisle over the last week and could be set for a very good season over the sticks. Obviously former champion jockey Peter Scudamore is also a big influence at the yard and, therefore, stable jockey Peter Buchanan will have no better teacher in that respect. With the NH season yet to really hit top gear it’s amazing they are already on 27 winners, so the 57 they managed (their best yet) last term looks like easily being bettered – and at this rate they might beat that tally come Christmas! They’ve had 2 NH Flat winners from just 9 runners, but more interestingly 8 of those 9 runners have finished 4th or better suggesting they are all ready to do themselves justice first time out i nthe NH Flat races.
Upcoming entries and track stats: Cheltenham (4 from 31, 13%), Kelso (22 from 182, 12%)

SAEED BIN SUROOR (6 winners from his last 19 runners, 32% strike-rate): Of the two powerful ‘blue yards’ it's the Bin Suroor team that are holding sway at the moment and with this weekend’s big Ascot meeting it couldn’t be coming at a better time. They are currently sitting on 67 winners for the season, already 9 more than last term, and although they are unlikely to get near the 100 mark before the year is out this is not a surprise now as we all know Godolphin spread their runners between him and Al Zarooni. In terms of prize money they’ve banked almost £1.7million – and that’s about £700,000 more than 12 months ago. With 16 juvenile winners from 58 sent to post then things are also looking good for next season as a lot of these will go onto be decent 3 year-olds too, while towards this backend of the season they do tend to have plenty of runners at the AW tracks – especially Kempton and Lingfield – they’ve got a 52% strike-rate on the AW at Lingfield! In terms of Ascot this weekend then Colour Vision in the long distance race looks their best hope, although they do also have the 'once-decent' Delegator entered in the Sprint too.
Upcoming entries and track stats: Wolverhampton (21 from 68, 31%), Nottingham (19 from 54, 35%), Lingfield AW (39 from 75, 52%), Kempton (61 from 189, 32%), Redcar (8 from 31, 26%), Haydock (7 from 54, 13%), Ascot (13 from 132, 10%)

    Hello again Andy

Thanks for last weeks stats. I had many hours burning the midnight oil and had a great week in doing so. I tried posting each day on here with the trainers runners for the day and tried to up date the info as it changes a lot each day during the week, but had big problems with my IPS and hot mail, so things did not work out. I was trying to post each day with your info and update each days trainers/runners and a up date on your % rate each day with your exellent selections. It just did not happen.

    Will try again this week.

Hope you can help me with a IT problem? How do you save info for trainers or jockeys( from racing post like you do with the trainers name in red) as i would like, to email my one and only mate with this easy link. How is it done?, all i get is a big address name or have to save the page and attach it. I would like to attach the link for Alexander Voy from Racing post. Can you help.

Still looking forward to SHEENA WEST as she kept her powder dry last week and looks to be doing the same this week ( very interesting )

    Great stuff and much appreciated.

    Good Luck
