Peter Bowen Horses In Cracking Order....

Andy Newton's on hand with his HOT TRAINERS list - see who's made it into the top 6 this week.

JOHN GOSDEN (6 winners from his last 8 runners, 75% strike-rate): Riding high at the moment with five winners on the spin between June 29th and July 1st, while their Kingman, who won by an eye-catching 6 lengths at HQ on Saturday, looks a horse that could go to the very top. Despite this purple patch this still only puts them on 38 winners for the season, but considering they normally get in the region of 100 winners in a year then there is a good chance the next few months are going to be good ones for the Gosden camp. They’ve fired in 2 juvenile winners from just 12 sent to post, but a staggering 29 of their 38 winners have been with their 3 year-olds. William Buick is obviously their number one jockey, but Ryan Moore’s last three rides for the yard have all been winners too!
Track stats and upcoming entries: Kempton (52 from 271, 19%), Haydock (19 from 70, 27%), Yarmouth (20 from 96, 21%), Epsom (7 from 55, 13%), Newbury (25 from 146, 17%), Doncaster (26 from 132, 20%), Leicester (10 from 38, 26%), Sandown (24 from 150, 16%)

DAVID BARRON (4 winners from his last 13 runners, 31% strike-rate): Ticking along very nicely indeed with 31 winners for the season as they look to surpass the 50 they managed 12 months ago, while 76 was their best yet in 2006. Look for any 2 year-olds at the moment too as they’ve had 4 juvenile winners from just 15 runners, while also note any money in the betting as 3 of their last 5 to be sent off favourite have gone in. Graham Gibbons is their main man in the saddle, while, in terms of track stats they do very well at Leicester, Chester, Lingfield AW, Newmarket (July), Southwell AW, Wolverhampton AW and Windsor.
Track stats and upcoming entries: Doncaster (9 from 91, 10%), Haydock (11 from 74, 15%), Beverley (4 from 55, 7%), Leicester (5 from 12, 42%), Notingham (4 from 24, 17%), Carlisle (1 from 24, 4%)

PETER BOWEN (9 winners from his last 21 runners, 43% strike-rate): This Welsh-based yard are flying high at present as not only have they had 9 winners, but 15 of their last 21 runners have also finished either first or second! Most have been over the sticks, but they do have the odd runner on the flat too, with the improving Big Time Billy a recent easy winner at Newcastle. They are already on 28 NH winners for the season and considering they fired in 48 in the whole of 2012-13 then that tells it’s own story. I’m sure they will be pushing to try and better their best tally of 72 that they managed in 2006-07. Look for any NH Flat runners too as they are 8 from 13 (62%) in that sphere, while they are 13 from 42 (31%) with their chasers.
Track stats and upcoming entries: Worcester (14 from 97, 14%), Perth (8 from 25, 32%), Market Rasen (20 from 93, 22%)

DAVID NICHOLLS (4 winners from his last 13 runners, 31% strike-rate): The 'Sprint King' is starting to fire in a few winners and after a slightly below-par haul of 50 last year with 32 already then he’ll be keen to get back up to the 80-90 mark of the three seasons before. Good old Tax Free was a decent winner for them at HQ on Friday, and it’s best to look for their older runners with 31 of their 32 successes being with their 4+ year-olds. Look for anything they send to Ffos Las as they are currently 3 from 5 at the Welsh track, but also do very well with their runners up at Hamilton.
Track stats and upcoming entries: Catterick (26 from 181, 14%), Haydock (14 from 138, 10%), Sandown (0 from 8), Doncaster (10 from 163, 6%), Beverley (16 from 118, 14%), Nottingham (3 from 46, 7%), Ayr (13 from 141, 9%)

ROGER VARIAN (6 winners from their last 20 runners, 30% strike-rate): On the 36 winner mark for the season, but firing in the winners at a 21% strike-rate, plus look for any money in the market as 7 of their last 9 to be sent of favourite have won. They’ve only had 8 juvenile runners, but 2 of those have won, with the bulk of their winners (27) coming with their 3 year-olds. With 53 winners and 72 in their first two campaigns then they will be keen to keep moving in the right direction in terms of winners. Since he took over at the helm at Kremlin House the courses they’ve done very well at are Bath, Brighton, Doncaster, Haydock, Leicester, Lingfield, Newcastle, Redcar, Salisbury, Yarmouth, Southwell AW and Wolverhampton.
Track stats and upcoming entries: Haydock (16 from 53, 30%), Yarmouth (8 from 33, 24%), Newbury (8 from 40, 20%), Doncaster (10 from 41, 24%), Sandown (6 from 40, 15%), Warwick (3 from 13, 23%), Nottingham (4 from 31, 13%)

MARK JOHNSTON (5 winners from their last 24 runners, 21% strike-rate): Okay, so not the best overall strike-rate, but a lot of their recent runners are finishing in the frame too, suggesting that not only are their horses running well, but we can expect a decent period ahead for the ‘Always Trying’ yard. Yes, they have so many runners that trying to filter which ones to back can be a nightmare in itself, but with a 17% strike-rate their 3 year-olds then it pay to note this age group. They are sitting on 95 winners for the season now, so are just under halfway to their 215 total and have banked just under £1million in total prize money already. On a negative with the John Smith's Cup Meeting at York next week they will be hoping to better their track stats on the Knavesmire as they are just 11 from 224 there!
Track stats and upcoming entries: Catterick (23 from 124, 19%), Yarmouth (11 from 104, 11%), Haydock (24 from 228, 11%), Epsom (15 from 153, 10%, Newbury (7 from 74, 9%), Warwick (12 from 57, 21%), Doncaster (21 from 221, 10%), Sandown (12 from 146, 8%), Beverley (66 from 218, 30%), Leicester (23 from 130, 18%), Carlisle (6 from 57, 11%), Nottingham (8 from 110, 7%), Ayr (9 from 130, 7%)
