Weekend Notes

Just a few weekend notes for you...

Firstly, some sad news.

It's been brought to my attention that Dr Dennis Coote, co-author of the very popular Fancy Fillies system of a few years back, has lost his long battle with cancer, passing away last Friday.

Dennis, along with his partner, Hazel, had been around the betting system arena for many years and built a reputation for always playing with a straight bat. On behalf of geegeez and myself, I'd like to send my condolences to Hazel, and I'm sure we all wish her strength at this difficult time.

Now, it won't have escaped your attention that the English Premier League football season kicks off tomorrow. If you're one of those people who don't watch 'real' football (you know, like Bournemouth, ahem), and instead prefer those jumped up prima donnas and their petulant antics, then you might be interested to read a couple of things.

One, I've managed to secure an excellent footy tipster/writer, and am looking forward to welcoming him on board. Jonathan Turner is his name, and he'll be writing a Friday column looking at the weekend action, starting within the next couple of weeks.

Thanks a million to those of you who emailed me expressing an interest in this position. I do plan to extend the sporting range of geegeez a little in future, though - as the name demands - we'll be keeping a tight primary focus on the sport of kings!

The second item I wanted to highlight on this subject is the latest 'no brainer' offer from BetVictor.

They're offering a free bet to all customers placing a treble on the Premier League footy this weekend, to be placed on a treble on next weekend's Premier League games. That's pretty cool, and here's how I've played it.

3.22/1 treble with BetVictor, and I'll have another one free next week

3.22/1 treble with BetVictor, and I'll have another one free next week

I'm backing Chelsea to beat Hull (duh!), Arsenal to beat Aston Villa (though I expect this to be quite close), and West Brom to beat Southampton, which is the fixture to make the bet.

They've signed Nicolas Anelka - who knows a bit about scoring in the Premier League despite now qualifying for his bus pass - and Matyj Vydra, a chap who scored 22 goals for Watford last term. One thing is for sure: that game will NOT be 0-0!

The treble pays a top-priced 3.22/1.

This offer is available to both new and existing customers and it's easily the best 'new season' special I've seen.

********

Finally today, I wanted to give you a quick update on the next phase of the racecards project. We're working on various 'filters' that make it easier to look at the relevant lines in a horse's overall form profile, i.e. those that relate to today's conditions. Things are coming along quite well, and this is just one component of a pretty packed - and super-exciting - delivery, which I really hope will be in place by the end of the month.

I'd say it's probably the most exciting development ever on geegeez, and I hope you'll agree when you see it in full. For now, though, here's a quick screenshot of how the full horse form filters look in beta (still need a bit of cosmetic surgery too).

The new horse form filters... coming soon!

Have a great weekend!

More than a little disappointed that you might see the loss of a man to cancer as an opportunity to post an affiliate link. Inappropriate? Perhaps it’s karma that the link doesn’t work.

    • Matt Bisogno says:

Dear Sarah, I’m not entirely sure what you’re insinuating there, but I’d politely request you reconsider your position. Moralizing is an ugly trait at the best of times, but when it’s as misinformed and in such bad taste as your comment, it’s really quite offensive.

Do you seriously believe I saw such a notice as an ‘opportunity’? That’s just sick.

      Matt

      • Sarah says:

Matt, you ask your readers what they think, so please don’t take offence when someone tells you what they think. Struggling with criticism is not the most attractive character trait either. Fact is, whether I’m moralizing or not, whether I’m misinformed or no, you made a conscious decision to insert an affiliate link into your opening paragraph, rather than simply refer to Dr Coote’s product, and I happen to think that is in bad taste.

        • Matt Bisogno says:

You’re incorrect Sarah. It wasn’t a conscious effort at all. In fact, I didn’t even know it was there. It is auto-generated when the phrase appears, in the same way that other phrases, even within this post, are. I’ve removed it. It wasn’t intentional. Obviously (I would have hoped)

          Matt

          • Sarah says:

I’m glad I was wrong. But I’m also glad I brought the careless oversight to your attention. Perhaps a less prickly reaction to well-intentioned observations next time?

          • Matt Bisogno says:

Yes, perhaps, Sarah. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I just assumed that it would be obvious that I wouldn’t take someone’s death as a chance to ‘plug’ their product, especially if you’ve been following geegeez for any length of time.

            Matt

    • Matt Bisogno says:

Thanks G10. Yes, still some work to go yet, but they should be brilliant when they’re ready. Also, that’s not even the best new feature…

  2. dion says:

is it just me but I have opened an account with Bet Victor but nowhere can I find this free bet all I get is put a bet on via an app on your mobile on man of the match etc. I’m mystified but that’s life I suppose.

  3. Martin says:

Like the look of the filters….and certainly whets the appetite as to what other features you have in mind for us lucky geegeez readers.

Another site/tool which allows you to filter race cards is patternform….it’s definitely worth checking for interest, ideas, and just to use.

Matt you are a very considerate man and I applaud you for your kind words clarifying your genuine sympathy for the deceased lover of The Sport Of Kings and cleared the misunderstanding as someone who hasn’t followed your work for a while or is new to the GeeGees platform could have misconstrued. I know of your integrity and generosity as you have given hours of your time giving back to the average punter priceless tips and info that others would charge hundreds of pounds for. For eg just following your stat of the day IF FOLLOWED RELIGIOUSLY WOULD SEE ONE VERY RICH. Please show the stats. to everyone on your site. Your team work just as hard and I cant praise you enough. Of course you have to make a living or else you would be on the dole and the advert I am sure everyone can see was a genuine mistake. god bless you and the lady who wrote with her views too.

    • Matt Bisogno says:

      Hi Bob

Good to hear from you, and thank you very much for your kind words.

It was an accidental situation, and needs no further dwelling upon. Wishing you a fine weekend, and some good luck too.

      Best Regards,
      Matt

  5. nige says:

Is it just me or are others banned from bet victor aswell boo hoo. Ive seen this offer posted by a few people and am annoyed because because of there pettyness i cant take more money from them lol. Oh well more accounts more offers

  6. crash381 says:

I’m barred too! Worst part was I’d only placed a couple of bets – a winner & a loser butvtheycdecided I was using a system. Any ideas if/how I can get them to reconsider. Especially as their odds are often pretty decent?

  7. Colin B says:

I was incensed to read “Sarah’s” comments.
Even in her final post she still had to use the words “prickly” and “careless”

I , for one, was thankful for Matts announcement as I otherwise would not have known . As it happens, I, and no doubt many others, have been able to pass our condolences to Hazel and know how she appreciates it.
The mention of Fancy Fillies, Dennis and Hazels best known product is what identifies him as the products are marketed under the Nova Publications imprint,
Dennis, like Matt himself was one of the “good guys” who unlike many ,thoroughly tested and proved their systems before letting them loose on the market.

    • Matt Bisogno says:

      Hi Colin

Thanks for your comment. We’ve established that it was a misunderstanding, which was my fault as much as anything else in the first instance. I’d like to draw a line under this now, as it’s in danger of sullying what was intended as a line of condolence for a respected late member of our community.

Thanks again for your comment, and I hope you’re keeping well.

      Matt

  8. Tony Deakin (@Deakers68) says:

    Hi Matt,
Thanks for highlighting the VC Premiership offer. I found £23.44 in my account that I’d forgotten about (like others here my VC account is restricted, I’m barred from BOG). However, Man U (11/10!!!), Spurs and Chelsea mean that I’ve just removed £108.29 from my account and I look forward to next weeks freebie bet. I like the look of Everton, Southampton & Spurs.
    Thanks again,
    Tony
