Nine furlong Class 3 three-year-old handicap scheduled for 1.50: Just one favourite has obliged during the last fourteen years, whilst seven of the fifteen market leaders have claimed toteplacepot positions.  Eight of the last nine winners carried a minimum burden of nine stones, whilst Sir Michael Stoute was the only trainer to have saddled two winners during the period.  Michael’s only option at the penultimate entry stage was Theodore Gericault.  Interestingly, Ryan Moore was already ‘jocked aboard’ on Tuesday morning, the only pilot in place in the contest at the time.

Listed ‘Scurry Stakes’ scheduled for 2.55: Four market leaders have been successful via eight renewals, though three of the other four market leaders finished out of the frame.

Class 4 five furlong handicap scheduled for 3.30: All seven winners have been burdened with a minimum of 8-11 thus far.  Two of the seven favourites have troubled the judge to date (no winners).  This was known as ‘Timeform Day’ down the years though I have long since regarded the date as a bookmaker’s extravaganza, designed to get as much money into the hod before Royal Ascot as the layers can muster!

Seven furlong Class 3 three-year-old handicap scheduled for 4.05: Seven of the eight favourites have been beaten, claiming ive toteplacepot position between them to date. The biggest priced winner was returned at 12/1, whilst fourteen of the twenty-three horses (61%)  to have claimed toteplacepot positions have started at odds of 6/1 or less.  Richard Hannon held four entries earlier in the week as the maestro attempts to secure a hat trick in the race.

Ten furlong 3YO maiden event scheduled for 4.35: Seven of the last nine winners have scored at 100/1, 33/1, 25/1, 8/1 (three times) & 6/1, whilst the last nine favourites have been beaten (including an 8/13 odds on chance), with ten of the last seventeen market leaders having claimed toteplacepot positions.

Class 4 fourteen furlong handicap scheduled to close out the card at 5.05: Seven of the eight winners during the last decade have carried 8-12 or more, whilst three clear market leaders and one joint favourite obliged during the study period.

Twelve furlong Class 3 handicap (Queen Mother’s Cup) scheduled for 2.05:  Six of the thirteen favourites during the last eleven years have secured toteplacepot positions, statistics which include three successful market leaders.  Five renewals have slipped by since the last (11/4) successful market leader was registered.  Crackentorp was one of twenty-five penultimate stage entries, Tim Easterby's potential raider having secured two gold medals alongside a bronze via the last three renewals of the amateur rider contest.  Tim’s raider was the only horse mentioned in dispatches last year before securing his 10/1 success.

Class 2 nine furlong handicap due to be sent off at 2.35: Market leaders have claimed five of the last eight available toteplacepot positions during which time, three favourites have prevailed which is a decent return in what is usually a competitive event.  The last seven winners have carried weight ranging between 9-2 and ten stones.

Six furlong handicap (Class 2) scheduled for 3.50: Six renewals have slipped by since the last favourite obliged, the sextet of gold medallists having been sent off at odds ranging between 9/1 and 20/1.  All ten winners during the last eleven years carried weights of 9-1 or less.

Class 4 nine furlong handicap scheduled for 4.20: Four-year-olds have secured four of the six contests. Two favourites having been successful thus far, though three of the other four market leaders finished out of the frame. Five of the six gold medallists carried a minimum burden of 9-1.

Six furlong juvenile maiden scheduled for 4.50: Favourites have won six of the ten contests during the last eleven years with market leaders having won six of the last ten contests.

Class 4 six furlong handicap scheduled for 5.20: Only one (joint) favourite has obliged via the last ten renewals, whilst the last five winners have carried weights of 9-6 or more.
