White Moonstone has kept her undefeated record intact with an impressive victory at Newmarket in the German-Thoroughbred.com Sweet Solera Stakes.
On her début fifteen days previous, when winning a six furlong maiden event at Ascot, the Godolphin filly had shown impressive style, and has now increased on that triumph with a length and a quarter victory from Crying Lightening in the Group Three race.
Jockey Frankie Dettori had the joint favourite towards the back of the field, while Crying Lightening and Elkmait battled for the lead for much of the race, but White Moonstone, trained by Saeed bi Suroor, put on the speed when required and took the lead coming up to the last furlong.
Simon Crisford, racing manager for Godolphin said, "That was a really pleasing effort. She has always shown a lot of talent at home and is a beautiful to look at.
"She has tons of class which you could see today. We are hoping she can go all the way to the top.
"The Fillies' Mile (at Ascot) would be big target for her. I think she will have one more run before then and we will step her up to a mile next."
Matt Doyle of Sky Bet said, "She has relished the longer trip and did it nicely to give Godolphin a much needed shot in the arm looking ahead to next year's first fillies' Classic."
