Gold Updates: February 2026

At the end of a busy week which has already featured a major sectional data enhancement to the Full Form tab, we now unleash a raft of small changes designed to make your life easier. Let's crack on with them...

Enhanced Tracker buttons on the racecard

Historically, there was a cumbersome process whereby you could add a horse (or trainer/jockey/sire) to your tracker via the little star icons on the racecard... but you then needed to go to the Tracker page to add or update any notes. No more. Now, a click on the star brings up a dialogue box enabling direct entry of notes. If you already have an entity tracked, you can remove it via a 'remove' button that displays next to the 'update' one. That's better...

Breeding suffixes on Full Form and Profiler tabs

Adding breeding country suffixes to horse's names is a small but quite useful little tweak. Not much else to say on that one.

Shortlist scores on Instant Expert

Ooh, what's this? We've added a new column to Instant Expert with scores based on The Shortlist scoring system. Three for green, one for amber, none for grey, minus one for red. Top score 15, bottom score -5.

The scores update when you change the variables and dropdowns above the main data grid. Nifty.

'Last 5 Years' option on Draw Tab

Sometimes the draw bias over a particular track and trip changes. Maybe the rail configuration was amended, maybe a different irrigation system was put in place, occasionally they dig up the entire track and re-lay it. These things have a bearing on any bias that previously existed, and our 'last 5 years' button allows you to quickly compare the data from 2009+ with that for the most recent half decade. Simple dimple.

Each way terms added to the Odds Tab

Jeez, it took us a while to get to this. But, finally, we are there. Number of places and the fraction of the win odds paid are now displayed on the odds tab for each bookmaker. Useful.

Report tweaks galore and a bug fix

We've added csv download buttons to most reports and course selector dropdowns on all reports. And we've added odds to most of them, too.

You're welcome!

Hopefully there's something useful there for most users. A gazillion more updates planned for this year, but that's a goodly bunch this week to get you started.

Matt

p.s. As always, you can view the full User Guide here. There's a lot inside Geegeez Gold including things you probably didn't even realise were there! Any questions, let me know below.

    Hey Matt,
I think there may be a blip in the updates somewhere. My QT angles are showing very few selections and none for the AW, just checked one in the 5f Wolves race that should be listed.

Hi John, what is the name of the angle in question? I’ll check. This isn’t really the place for customer support though (and, to be honest, I’m 99% sure this isn’t a blip but rather an understanding issue).

Might be better to email me?

Nifty little updates, thanks Matt. I really like the shortlist scoring, and the extra csv downloads / tracker notes are really useful too.

Would it be possible to add this to the “reader requests” please? A csv download option on the Instant Expert tab? It doesn’t necessarily have to pull all the 5 variables and the rating part, but the 5 columns up to and including the score would be great. Thanks.

      Hi Richard

I’m afraid we’re at the very limit of what we’re allowed to do in terms of providing data downloads. It’s not permitted within out license agreement, unfortunately, beyond the reports and QT.

We could, however, add a csv button to the curated ‘best of’ report.

      Hi Malcolm

I’m glad you like what we’re doing online – thank you.

On printed racecards, not really, no. There’s so much behind the icons and so on that it would be impossible to deliver everyone’s idea of what that should look like.

I agree it would be very handy, though.

Love the tweaks to Tracker buttons, Shortlist scores and the breeding country codes. Thank you VERY much. They’re all useful to me and, almost more importantly, it improves the standing of Brand Geegeez. I remember writing to you many years ago when Geegeez was in it’s embryonic stage to say how much I applauded you launching what I wanted to years before (and knew was possible!) when I had no money and a job which kept my family in relative “luxury” so I couldn’t stop to indulge in my real passion. The fact that I turn 80 in a fortnight and can bet relatively fearlessly (even on a pension!) is down to you, dear Matt; you and system created out of multiple facets all on offer in the pages of Geegeez Gold. I wonder how many people have come to realise that you can measure horse, it’s sire, trainer and jockey all with a PRB?! It’s quite exciting when all four align in the upper 50’s…or better! Very grateful, as always! Richard
