2026 Clarence House Betting Trends

Staged at Ascot racecourse the Clarence House Chase is a Grade One contest run over a distance of 2m1f.

The Clarence House Chase was first run back in 1989 when the popular Desert Orchid won the prize as a 10 year-old.

The race is also a good guide to that season’s Queen Mother Champion Chase with Sprinter Sacre landing both races in 2013, Sire de Grugy in 2014, while Dodging Bullets did the same double in 2015, plus most recently Altior in 2019.

The Willie Mullins-trained Un De Sceaux also made the race his own by landing three of the last nine renewals.

The 2023 running was won by Editeur Du Gite and the Gary Moore yard - their second win in the contest since 2014 and was also staged at Cheltenham.

While last year (2025) Jonbon made up for finishing second in 2024 and won the race - giving trainer Nicky Henderson a seventh success.

Trainers Nicky Henderson (7) and Paul Nicholls (5) have also won the race 12 times between them and– as mentioned – the Willie Mullins camp have taken three of the last 10 runnings.

Here at GeeGeez, we are on hand with all the key stats ahead of the 2026 renewal – this year due to be run on Saturday 17th January.
